Everybody loves a winner. If given a choice, we all want to be on the winning team in business, relationships and life. Numerous studies and books have been written to decipher factors which catapult an individual, team or business toward a winning advantage. March Madness. One big winner and in its wake, 63 teams wondering about that one shot, or pass, or time-out that cost them the game.
When one team (or business, or individual) reaches its pinnacle, (like the national championship) there are a vast number of tallies in the loss column for others. How we handle loss is important. Some mistakes are repeated again and again, (several teams come instantly to mind) but often when a loss comes with a long, difficult struggle – the lessons learned stick like epoxy.
What is true in the realm of competitive college basketball can also be true in life. Each moment matters. Our days are filled with both wins and losses and if we focus only on the loss column, it becomes easy to lose heart and become discouraged with our lives. Today, begin looking for the moments when you are giving your all and bask in the glory of small victories.
