What better time to plan and prepare for your future through estate planning than right now?
I recently sat down with an estate planner and wanted to share insights I’ve gained in hopes to encourage you to examine the benefits of planning to take care of your loved ones once you’ve passed on. There are many false beliefs about estate planning that can become barriers to beginning the process. You don’t have to be wealthy and it does not have to be a long, complicated, expensive process.
One of the biggest barriers to estate planning is denial. Most of us think “it won’t happen to me.”
I was a happily married wife and mother of a 6 yr old son. One night after a routine dinner and bath time with our son, my husband had a heart attack and died. He was 27yrs old and I was a 29 yr old widow and a single mother. “It happened to me.”
Believing that this set of circumstances would never be my own did not prevent this tragedy from happening.
At GROW counseling, we can assist you with processing the mixed emotions that commonly accompany your decisions for estate planning. We can help identify when the timing is right for you and guide your next steps to professional help.
Thank you, Thompson Legacy Law for a very insightful meeting.
