Eating Disorders: “Reclaim yourself and create a life that includes peace, joy and fulfillment”

In the book “8 Keys to Recovery from an Eating Disorder” by Carolyn Costin and Gwen Schubert Grabb, the authors explain that the road to recovery from an eating disorder is not about a “linear” fix. Most of the time, someone does not just “get it” like learning how to do an algorithm or remembering the steps to baking your favorite recipe. One in recovery from an eating disorder will need to work on their problems again and again. The important part of recovery is the desire to never give up. The authors say, “Stay with it and you can recover from your eating disorder, reclaim yourself, and create a life that includes peace, joy and fulfillment”.

During this holiday season, wherever you are in your road to recovery, you might need to reassess and revisit some of the milestones that have helped you thus far in your recovery. Seek the help you need and do not give up on your recovery.
