No, we are not able to accept insurance, however we do provide a receipt for you to file with your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Most of our clients get reimbursed from their insurance providers at an out of network rate. This will depend on your specific policy. We can work with you to help determine what will work best for you.
We are able to take Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) or Flex Spending Accounts if you have a card that has a MasterCard or Visa logo on it. We will provide you with a receipt for your records.
Individual sessions are typically 45-50 minutes long. Family, couple and group sessions may be longer. Assessments and evaluations will likely take longer depending on the assessments being given.
Coaching is not unlike counseling in totality, however it tends to be more focused on motivation, possibilities and goals. Wikipedia defines coaching as “a method of directing, instructing and training a person or group of people, with the aim to achieve some goal or develop specific skills.”
We have a variety of professionals (Psychologists, counselors, etc.) on staff who work from a variety of perspectives and have different specialties. It is a resource for our clients as we can connect you with someone with whom you will feel most comfortable. In general, all our therapists work from a strengths based and wellness approach.
Yes. Please let your therapist know that you are interested in faith-based counseling when you make an appointment or during your first session. We welcome people from a variety of faith backgrounds, as well as those with no faith background. We value diversity and respect your beliefs.
The first session will be a process of getting to know you and what you are hoping to get out of counseling. You may share as much as you feel comfortable (we recognize you are getting to know us too!). Your therapist will mostly likely ask you questions to help move the process along and gather relevant information. Towards the end of the first session, you and your therapist will make a plan to address your goals. We see this process as one of collaboration. It is normal that you may feel a little apprehensive about your first session if you have not been in therapy before. However, most clients report that they feel a great deal of relief at the end of their first session.
This depends on your specific needs. On average, clients come once a week. This can vary by client, with some clients coming several times as week or several times a month.
Our fees vary depending on the education level and licensure/certification of your therapist – as well as whether you are attending an individual, group, family session, or workshop. If finances are a concern for you, we can work on a sliding scale based on your income level. Generally we range between $80-$200 a session and can slide lower than that depending on the need and hardship.
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Appointments that are not cancelled before the 24-hour mark, will incur the full session fee, except for in the case of extreme emergencies which can be discussed with your therapist.
