Whole-hearted Parenting

Parents have one of the hardest and most rewarding jobs, in raising their children.

Often, parents protect their children from failing and this strategy can hurt, more than help, our next generation. Children will fail, it’s in their nature.

Brene Brown PhD, LCSW, cautions parents that when we protect our children from failing, they do not learn a very important skill that they will need: “how to find the courage and motivation to get back up”. Her newest book “Rising Stong” is a book that addresses the “getting back up” part of failure.

If you want to learn how to parent your children through failure, rather than protecting them from it, click here to read Brene Brown’s “Parenting Manifesto”. These are some excellent strategies on parenting.
